Diagnostics
Treating sick and injured pets with diagnostics.
At Rock Hill Animal Hospital, our goal is to keep your pet happy and healthy. We have several options for diagnostics available to our patients. Our in-house diagnostics allow us to do wellness screens, pre-anesthetic screens, emergencies, urinalysis, fecal parasite screens, heartworm screens, parvo tests, glucose curves, screen for pancreatitis, cytology, skin scraping, and feline aids/ leukemia combo testing. We also use a professional laboratory for senior profiles, wellness screens, thyroid levels, phenobarbital levels, and many other tests.
Blood testing animals helps establish healthy baseline values and identify problems early, rather than waiting for obvious signs of tragic illness. The blood profile also serves as a complete pre-anesthetic screen for a surgical or dental procedure. In addition, a blood profile may help us avoid using medications that may be unsafe for a pet's medical condition or health status. If abnormalities are found, an additional test may be recommended. If the pet has a new or previously diagnosed condition, our veterinarian will discuss the need for specific tests such as radiographs (x-rays), urinalysis, or electrocardiograms.
